New roller cover from HEMA

HEMA boosts roller cover speeds: By expanding its product family of roller covers, the specialist in machine and equipment protection has increased travel speeds by 30 percent.

Rolls faster and lasts longer
Roller cover up, roller cover down: Compared to bellows, roller covers save space but require process time. HEMA Maschinen- und Apparateschutz has now developed a roller system specifically for time-critical operations; thanks to an optimized drive design, this version achieves a 30 percent faster travel speed than standard models, while maintaining the same load capacity and service life.

80 m/min maximum speed
For its new TF-RS 3D roller cover, HEMA utilizes the fastest drive in its portfolio—one that operates using torsion springs. These are particularly well-suited for high-duty cycles and for use with low-friction textile and plastic bands. The roller system thus enables extension speeds of up to 80 m/min and acceleration of up to 1.5 g. Thanks to a specially designed drive connection and mounting system, these high travel speeds do not compromise the unit's service life or durability.

For applications requiring a high level of protection
Roller covers are suitable for any application requiring machine protection that is space-saving, quickly available, and highly durable. Key examples include machine tools, CNC machines, and machining centers. In these settings, they protect linear guides, axes, and components from chips and cooling lubricants, thereby significantly extending their service life. They also safeguard systems and components against contamination in fields ranging from conveyor technology and robotics to construction, agricultural, and mobile machinery. Furthermore, roller covers are a vital component of workplace safety; by shielding hazardous areas, they prevent accidental contact and reduce the risk of injury.

Adaptable
The new roller covers are available with strip widths ranging from 150 to 1,000 mm and extension lengths from 300 to 5,000 mm—both as standard models and in custom sizes. Thanks to various mounting options—such as brackets or pre-drilled holes—the roller system can be flexibly integrated into the production environment. Depending on the specific application and belt requirements, the cover is supplied either with or without a housing.
