HEMA products for retrofitting

Proven, state-of-the-art machines - retrofitting older machines is often significantly cheaper than purchasing new ones

Retrofitting older machines is often significantly cheaper than purchasing new ones. Overhauling machines has many advantages. It is almost always cheaper and takes significantly less time than the delivery time for a new machine. In addition, there is no need for extensive training because the employees have been familiar with the systems for a long time.

However, quality is crucial when selecting the components that need to be replaced: HEMA offers a wide portfolio of high-quality bellows, safety windows and vision systems for the overhaul of machines.

Bellows and other protective covers
Bellows are among the components that are subject to particularly high levels of wear on machine tools. They move countless times every day together with the axes they are supposed to protect. In addition, sharp, hot chips and aggressive coolants attack the material and make it brittle over time. Worn bellows can be easily replaced and replaced with custom-made bellows from HEMA.

Machine covers and back panels can also be easily replaced. Due to the often split design, a protective cover can be easily retrofitted or converted without having to laboriously dismantle the machine.

Machine safety windows and spin windows
For safety reasons, machine safety windows must be replaced regularly so as not to pose any risks to people and machines. HEMA supplies safet windows in every required size and geometry. As part of a retrofit, simple safety windows can also be replaced with composite windows from HEMA, which offer greater protection. Towards the machine room they are made of single-pane or laminated safety glass, and on the operator side they are made of abrasion-resistant coated polycarbonate.

The SPINVISTA spin window can also be retrofitted. Thanks to its rotation mechanism, it ensures a clear view of the working area of a machine. SPINVISTA is placed on the window and can be easily installed as part of a retrofit. When replacing a machine safety window, a complete solution consisting of machine protection windows with an already installed SPINIVISTA spin window is also available.

Other safety components from HEMA, such as clamping or lighting systems, are also suitable for installation as part of a machine overhaul.
